Google has just come out with a free service called Google Paper (still in Beta), which allows you to “Archive” any email you want, and have Google mail it to you in an envelope.
An overview of some neat features:
- One click mail option
- Mail will arrive within 2-4 business days
- Attachments will also be printed and sent (excluding mp3s)
- Photos will be printed on high-quality glossy paper
I can tell you already, this is a major event in internet history. This will bridge the gap for the non-internet literate folks out there who want to keep in touch with the internet crowd.

As a Yahoo Mail Beta business user, I was paying $20 a year and still only getting 2.0 GB of storage space (normal users were getting 1 GB). With my e-mail account filled 77%, I was beginning to look for other options, but thankfully Yahoo has stepped in (by chance) and solved that problem.
Yahoo, the largest email provider online, has just announced that its accounts will soon (rumor is May 2007) have unlimited email storage, which puts them ahead of GMail (2.8 GB) and Microsoft’s Live.com (2 GB) in that category.

Google, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, has been testing TV ad serving in a move which targets the $54 billion market for TV ads. Google already serves search ads, contributing about 99% of their $10 billion in revenue, and has been testing serving radio ad placements recently.
This delve into traditional advertising’s stronghold is sure to upset the old media, who are seeming more and more vulnerable each day. It will be interesting to see who opens their hands to this initiative and which old media reject it.

Christopher Null, over at PC World, has painstakingly put together a list of the 50 most important people on the web. I can’t even imagine the amount of time and research it must have taken to make this list, and how you can narrow it down to 50. It seems that each week a handful of new names climb the ladder.
Here are the top five:
1. Eric Schmidt, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin
Executives, Google
2. Steve Jobs, CEO, Apple
3. Bram Cohen, Cofounder, BitTorrent
4. Mike Morhaime, President, Blizzard Entertainment
5. Jimmy Wales, Founder, Wikipedia

Sirius Satellite Radio CEO Mel Karmazin has often said he would like to purchase XM Satellite Radio, the only other major player. Today he may very well have gotten his wish.
Sirius would buy XM for $4.6 billion in stock, which gives current XM stock owners about a 20 percent boost on their shares. The new company would have 14 million subscribers.
Under the deal, Mel Karmazin, the more charismatic of the two companies’ CEOs, would be the CEO of the new company, while XM Chairman Gary Parsons would retain his position in the new company.

Roto-Rooter, the largest plumbing service in the U.S., has opened up a sweepstakes to win a “Pimped Out John”. This toilet, given to one lucky winner, will have all of the necessary (and quite a few unnecessary) tools for today’s man in this “war zone”. According to Roto-Rooter, the average person spends 11,862 hours in the bathroom in a lifetime. Needless to say, it would be a much more pleasant time if there were something to do.
“The bathroom is the perfect place for your very own throne. It shouldn’t always be regarded as the room of last resort,” contends Steven Pollyea, Roto-Rooter vice president of marketing.

As one of the beta testers of Yahoo Beta, I’ve had the luxury of test driving new features before the general mail users got to. I was wondering when Yahoo Mail Beta would finally catch up to Google’s GMail in email features. One of the best features in GMail is the ability to chat with contacts right from your inbox and keep a record of all conversations.
Yahoo Mail will be launching an integration of their Yahoo Messenger with the Yahoo Mail today. Account owners will be able to now instant message right from their inbox and save all messages.

The head of Cartoon Network, Jim Samples, has just sent an internal memo stating that he is resigning effective immediately. The cause of his exit is the aftermath of the marketing stunt for the network show “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”, which ended up shutting down half of Boston’s highways, bridges, and public landmarks.
Samples has been at Cartoon Network for 13 years and hoped that by leaving the embarrassing situation will be put behind.

Boston’s Attorney General said that Turner Broadcasting Systems and Interference, Inc. will cover the $2 million cost of the response to their January 31 publicity stunt involving placing LED signs with wires protruding throughout the city. They were supposed to promote a Cartoon Network show named “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”
Many in Boston had feared these were bombs, and consequently the highways and bridges were shut down, as well as bomb squads being brought in.
Ted Turner had apologized, and the marketing company hired by Turner, Interference, Inc. had the following to say on their website:

Even if you don’t love the sport of football, most of you will agree that the commercials shown during the Super Bowl are the most entertaining you will find all year. No other occasion brings out the creativity of companies like a $2.6 million 30-second spot.
One website is offering you the ability to watch just the commercials, without having to sit through the game.
YouTube, which was recently purchased by Google for $1.65 billion, has created a whole Super Bowl commercial section where visitors can rank the commercials aired during the game.
